What we do

For every restaurant we cover, we research and publish its current open/closed status, when it aired, what happened on the episode, and what's changed since — each dated and sourced, and re-checked on a rotating schedule (see our Editorial & Corrections Policy).

How the research is done

Each listing starts with the episode: the network's episode guide and the broadcast itself tell us which restaurant, bar or hotel was featured and when. The place is then located and its current status checked against its own website and social accounts, local news coverage, public business and licensing records where a city or country publishes them, and map and review listings. A status is published only when a named, dated source supports it, under the rules in our Editorial & Corrections Policy, and every page shows its sources and the date it was last checked. Listings are re-checked on a rotating schedule, and corrections from readers and owners are reviewed and answered.

tvrestaurants.com is an independent editorial site — not a network, not a licensed syndicate, and not an aggregator reformatting someone else's directory. Counts of what is open and closed, by show and by place, are on the statistics page; questions about a listing go to the editor.

What we don't do

We're not affiliated with any network, show, or personality (see our Disclaimer). We don't take reservations or process payments — where we link to a third-party booking or travel service, that's disclosed (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We don't use show logos, title-card artwork, or episode screenshots, and we don't put the map behind a login or a paywall.
