What happened after Bar Rescue?
Angry Ham's Garage had operated in Framingham, Massachusetts under three co-owners: Tim Hanna, Richie Olson, and former NHL enforcer Lyndon "L.B." Byers, who played much of his career with the Boston Bruins. Because Richie and L.B. had legal issues that stood in the way of a liquor license, the license was held solely in Tim's name. By the time Bar Rescue arrived, the bar had drawn complaints from neighbors, poor internal management, and owners who did not know how much money the business was losing.
The rescue centered on the bar's name and identity as much as its operations: Jon Taffer argued that "Angry Ham's" -- a local nickname for Framingham residents that some found derogatory -- was actively hurting the business, and the owners eventually agreed to rebrand as Octane Bar and Grill. Staff training uncovered nearly $2,800 in liquor given away for free over just four days. Taffer also asked L.B. to step away from the business after he missed a key meeting with city officials during the rescue process, telling him the new concept could not succeed with him still involved. A bartender and chef built new cocktail and food menus for the relaunch, and city officials expressed support for the more polished direction once they saw the changes.
Sales rose more than 25% in the weeks after the episode aired, giving the business its first profitable stretch, according to figures Reality TV Updates attributes to the show's post-rescue check-in. The bar also had ongoing friction with local authorities, including a licensing suspension tied to an altercation in which a doorman was struck with a rock, as reported by Wicked Local. Despite that friction, the business continued operating for roughly eight years, though the owners eventually reverted to the Angry Ham's name and brought L.B. back into the fold. According to Reality TV Updates, it closed for good in mid-2019. The Beacon Street address then passed through several unrelated businesses -- Angry Ham's Grill under new ownership, then Green Tea Restaurant, then Beacon Street Bar and Grill -- before Cafe Belo, a Brazilian restaurant with no connection to the Bar Rescue-era owners, took over the space; a live, current version of its own website shows the business operating there as of September 2026.
