The restaurant had operated in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood at 4732 North Lincoln Avenue for decades before the show's visit, pairing scratch-made sausages and roasts with a German beer list. Yelp's page for the Lincoln Avenue address is marked permanently closed, with an update as recent as August 2026. Time Out Chicago reported that the original restaurant closed in November 2017, and Secret Chicago separately reported that the Brauhaus reopened in September 2020 inside the DANK Haus German American Cultural Center a few miles away. DANK Haus's own website, checked in September 2026, makes no mention of an operating restaurant on its premises.
