What happened after Food Paradise?

"Steak Paradise" (S1E4) featured Megu, an upscale Japanese restaurant known for Kobe beef, sushi and other Japanese small plates, located inside the Dream Downtown hotel in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. The restaurant relaunched at Dream Downtown after earlier Megu locations in Tribeca and Midtown closed in 2014, with new owner Jon Bakhshi opening a roughly 5,000-square-foot, 145-seat dining room in the hotel's former Cherry Izakaya space, according to Famous Foodies. A Yelp listing for the Dream Downtown address, updated July 2026, marks Megu as permanently closed, and a separate Gayot listing likewise identifies the restaurant as closed. The Dream Downtown hotel itself remains open and operating at the same address, according to Google Places, even though the Japanese restaurant it once housed no longer operates there.
