What happened after Bar Rescue?

Rockin' Rhonda's was a Sanford neighborhood bar that owner Rhonda Pahlka, a former stockbroker and karaoke performer, had run since 2011. Business was healthy at first, but Bar Rescue's "Rickety Rockin' Rhonda's" episode, which aired in August 2017, showed a bar in physical and financial disrepair after a 2015 hurricane flooded the building; an insurance claim was denied because of the building's age, leaving the floor slanted and unstable. Rhonda had grown discouraged in the aftermath, giving away free shots to customers and losing track of the bar's finances, while staff went untrained and some employees drank on shift. The storm damage and the denied claim were a source of ongoing personal strain for the owner throughout the episode.

Jon Taffer's team, including bar expert Derrick Turner and chef Jason Santos, retrained the staff on cocktail consistency and on simplified barbecue dishes such as a chicken flatbread, while the renovation addressed the storm-damaged floor and outdated equipment. As part of the changes, the bar's name was shortened slightly, from Rockin' Rhonda's to Rhonda's A Neighborhood Bar, and the space was outfitted with new POS machines, an ice machine, and a new draft system. Sanford's mayor appeared at the relaunch to cut the ribbon.

The rescue held: at the standard six-week follow-up, sales were reported up about 50 percent, and Rhonda returned to performing karaoke at her own bar. Nearly a decade later, the bar's own website confirms it is still operating at 2617 South Orlando Drive under the name Rhonda's A Neighborhood Bar, with a weekly schedule that includes trivia, a steel-dart tournament, a pool tournament, and karaoke nights hosted by Rhonda herself.
