What happened after Bar Rescue?

In "Reckless Roundhouse," which aired 2019-07-21, Jon Taffer traveled to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards to work on the Whiskey Girl Saloon, run by co-owners Fred Barnett, Keith Peterson, and Luke Beshara. Beshara performed at the bar under an alter ego named Rick Roundhouse, a hard-partying persona the show framed as part of the bar's problem, and Taffer's rescue centered on getting him to set that persona aside and run the business more seriously. According to Fort Worth Weekly (2019-09-04), the bar had been losing more than $6,000 a month and had faded from what had once been one of the Stockyards' more popular spots earlier in the decade, with competing bars in the same tourist district drawing bigger and higher-spending crowds.

Taffer's team rebranded the bar as Stampede Saloon and brought in Derek Scheler, owner of a Burleson sports bar, as an additional owner-operator to help finish the buildout. The remodel added two indoor bars, a raised VIP section, a separate pool-table room, a turf-covered back patio with a stage for live music, and a garage-door opening behind the main stage that could convert part of the patio into a VIP area for larger acts. Fort Worth Weekly reported that the city would not approve a kitchen permit for the space, so the bar instead partnered with a neighboring restaurant and hosted food trucks for its opening weekend, which featured a George Strait tribute act and other live country performers.

Stampede Saloon's run did not last. By the time this research was conducted, the address on Ellis Avenue was home to a different business, Rhinestone Saloon, operating under new ownership with no connection to the original Whiskey Girl or Stampede Saloon ownership groups. Rhinestone Saloon's official website, current as of 2026, lists posted hours, live-music bookings, and an active online store, and the venue continues to host touring and local country acts at the same address in the Stockyards.

The Stockyards address has therefore passed through three identities since 2019: the original Whiskey Girl Saloon, the Taffer-era Stampede Saloon, and the present-day Rhinestone Saloon. The current operation shares the building and Stockyards location with the bar Taffer rescued but has no ownership or staffing connection to the cast that appeared on the original episode.
