What happened after Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network)?
Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network) sent Robert Irvine to Zandi's Grill in Millersville, Maryland, for the episode "Zandi's Grill," which aired July 25, 2012. As shown in the episode, the diner struggled with a hard-to-find location set back from the road, an unfocused menu, slow service, and worn-out decor. Co-owners and sisters Yvonne and Evette had, as depicted on air, lost much of their enthusiasm for running the business after years of long hours and had let the space grow tired around them.
Irvine's team rebuilt Zandi's around a diner-and-burger concept rather than trying to be all things to all customers. Crews stripped the dated dining room and installed a 15-by-8-foot mural in orange, purple, and pink swirls as a new focal point, replaced the worn flooring, added updated lighting and shelving, refreshed the seating, and brought in a dedicated milkshake machine to anchor a simplified menu built around super-sized burgers on brioche buns, breakfast omelets, and shakes.
Following the relaunch, the Severna Park Voice reported that business at Zandi's picked up in the months after the episode aired. A follow-up piece in the same local paper, published under the headline "Millersville Eatery Rebounds After Food Network Makeover," described the restaurant regaining local customers once the new menu and decor settled in.
By 2015, however, Food Network Gossip reported that Zandi's Grill had gone out of business, noting that the restaurant's website was no longer active and its phone number had been disconnected. Food Network's own restaurant directory listing for the address is now tagged "(Closed)." A Yelp listing for 8258 Veterans Highway, last updated August 2025, likewise shows the business as permanently closed. A later occupant of the same shopping-center suite, a diner called Andy's Kitchen, was also marked closed on Yelp as of an April 2026 update, suggesting the space has not held a long-term successor tenant since Zandi's shut its doors more than a decade ago.
