What happened after Bar Rescue?
"So We Meet Again, Mr. Taffer," which aired 2019-09-08, brought Jon Taffer back to work with Mark and his fiancee Ozzie, whom he had rescued once before in an earlier appearance under the name Badlands Country Night Club, itself a rename of the Season 3 rescue Long Shots Sports Bar & Grill. According to the episode's own synopsis, that earlier venue had closed when the landlord declined to renew its lease rather than because of any shortcoming in how Mark and Ozzie ran it. Years later, the couple had opened a second venture, Vertigo, with Mark focused on running it while Ozzie operated Edge of Town in Blue Springs, Missouri; when Edge of Town's staff began drinking away the bar's gains, the couple called Taffer back for a second rescue.
Taffer's team addressed staffing and service issues at Edge of Town and refreshed the bar's branding, renaming it Water's Edge Bar & Grill as a modernized version of its original identity rather than a full concept change. According to the episode's synopsis, Taffer described the follow-up rescue as personal, saying he wanted to help the couple reach their planned wedding on stable financial footing and noting that he does not typically return to help the same owners twice.
Water's Edge Bar & Grill has continued operating under Mark and Ozzie in the years since, keeping the modernized name rather than reverting to Edge of Town. A Yelp business listing for the bar, updated in June 2026, shows an active profile with roughly thirty customer reviews and a four-star average rating, and the bar's offerings, including nightly DJ and karaoke programming and multiple nights of poker, have remained consistent with what was documented shortly after the 2019 relaunch, when the show reported sales at the bar had grown by about 25 percent following Taffer's visit.
The bar operates today at 960 SW 37th Street in Blue Springs, the same address associated with the business at the time of its Bar Rescue appearance, with no indication of a change in ownership or a further name change since the 2019 relaunch.
