What happened after Bar Rescue?

Lickety Split in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, appeared in the November 9, 2014 episode "To Protect and to (Over) Serve." Owner Tom Gaylord, a former police detective, had run the bar since 2003, but according to his daughter and staff, his drinking -- which he linked to stress from his police career -- had led to declining standards and mounting debt that left the business only a few months from closing. Recon visits found an oversized, overly greasy pizza and observed Gaylord making disparaging remarks to a bartender in front of customers, prompting the host to intervene and close the bar for the night. A psychologist met with Gaylord the following day to discuss the stress tied to his police background, and Gaylord remained sober through the retraining and stress test that followed.

The rescue team split the building into two concepts: a ground-floor pizza operation named Alleged Bar and Pizza, and an upstairs bar renamed 2nd State Lounge, a reference to Pennsylvania's place among the original thirteen states. New point-of-sale and draft-beer systems were installed, and a chef and bartending expert retrained staff on pizza preparation and drink service. Gaylord later said in interviews that he felt coached during filming and did not agree with all of the show's choices.
