Voleo's Seafood Restaurant appeared in season 9, episode 3 of Kitchen Nightmares, "Voleo's," which aired January 21, 2025 after filming in September 2024. The Westwego, Louisiana restaurant was founded in 1985 in nearby Lafitte by patriarch David "Voleo" Volion, who trained in the 1990s under chef Paul Prudhomme at K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen before taking over the family business in 2000. In 2021, Hurricane Ida destroyed the original Lafitte building, forcing the family to rebuild about 25 miles away in Westwego. As shown in the episode, the move strained the business: David described the new community as unwelcoming, while the restaurant still carried a 110-item menu built for its larger Lafitte space and had drifted toward pre-cooked and frozen ingredients. Ramsay found the gumbo bland, the barbecue shrimp tasting frozen, and much of the seafood platter over-fried; a kitchen check turned up a refrigerator stocked mostly with pre-cooked and frozen items, including a ham steak reheated for service.
