Wikipedia's article on the restaurant (revised 2026-07-11) describes it as a diner known for large pancakes, and Daily Hive described the eatery on 2019-11-25 as known for big flavors and even bigger portions. A Google Maps listing places the featured location at 3420 Dunbar Street. Daily Hive reported that the owners closed a Dunbar Street location in July 2018 and that the business had once operated three Vancouver outposts, the last at 3455 Fraser Street.

In the same article, dated 2019-11-25, Daily Hive reported that the owners had retired and that the Fraser Street restaurant's final day of operation was 2019-08-31. A Google Maps listing checked on 2026-10-19 marks the Dunbar Street address permanently closed. The jethrosfinegrub.com web address, visited on 2026-10-19, displayed unrelated articles about gaming and betting rather than restaurant information.
