Topanga Cafe, a California-style Mexican restaurant on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver, appeared in S1E11 of You Gotta Eat Here! (Food Network Canada), aired 2012-08-29, an installment that also covered Catch 22 Lobster Bar in Moncton and Chicago Style Pizza in Hamilton. TVmaze's episode summary names the cafe without a dish, and TheTVDB's episode overview lists a wet burrito with extra guacamole, enchiladas, tacos, tostadas, nachos and a homemade chocolate cake. Scout Magazine, in an article dated 2020-11-09, described a run of about 40 years at 2904 West 4th Ave by a family of American expats from Los Angeles, and reported that an accidental fire destroyed the restaurant in summer 2018, citing CBC. A Google Maps listing viewed on 2026-10-19 marks the business as permanently closed.
