What happened after Project Bakeover?
Wannamaker's Bake Shop in Trenton, Ontario, was the second episode of Project Bakeover (Food Network Canada) season two, titled “Sugar, Squabbles, and Spice,” first aired on 2022-04-07. According to Wikipedia's article on the series, host Steve Hodge and designer Tiffany Pratt help bakeries update their menus and decor, and season two ran ten episodes from 2022-03-31 to 2022-06-02. Wikipedia's episode table lists three items created for the bakery: a donut-dough babka, a savoury tart with a hash-brown crust and a pavlova. The sources reviewed for this page do not describe the problems shown on air, the redesign or the relaunch beyond the episode title. In the season's ten-episode list, Ontario bakeries account for episodes two, three, four and seven.
The spelling in current listings is Wannamaker's Bakeshop, at 391 Dundas Street West in Trenton, which is part of the city of Quinte West. Google's place record, read on 2026-10-19, lists it there with no closure flag and gives a Facebook page titled “Wannamaker's Bakeshop | Trenton ON” as its website. That Facebook page loaded on 2026-10-19, but its posts could not be read in this review, so no dated post is cited. Google lists only the Facebook page as the shop's website, so there was no separate menu, hours or ordering page to check.
Restaurantji lists Wannamaker's Bakeshop at the same address as a bakery with a 4.9 rating on two of its area pages; neither page shows review dates or opening hours. An Airbnb things-to-do page lists a bakery at 391 Dundas Street West under the name Wannamaker's Home Sweet Home, also without dates; this page does not conclude whether that is another name for the same shop.
A Google Maps listing checked 2026-10-19 shows Wannamaker's Bakeshop at 391 Dundas Street West in Trenton as operating, with more than 750 Google reviews, and the newest reviews shown on the listing are dated July 16 and July 18, 2026. The listing links to the bakery's Facebook page. No source read reports a sale, a name change or a closure.
