What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?
In the You Gotta Eat Here! episode that aired on 2014-06-20, host John Catucci tried a Caribbean-style lasagna at Calabash, according to TVmaze's episode summary. The restaurant, Calabash Bistro, was at 428 Carrall Street in Vancouver. Global News reported on 2025-06-16 that it opened in 2010 and was run by co-owner and chef Cullin David, and placed it in the Downtown Eastside. A Vancouver Foodster post dated 2010-08-26 described Caribbean flavors in its food, including a coco bun, a vegetarian curry roti and fried coconut dumplings.
In the same 2025-06-16 report, Global News said David was weighing whether the restaurant could stay open, with catering as the main part of the business keeping it going. A Google Maps listing checked on 2026-10-19 marks Calabash Bistro permanently closed, and the restaurant's website returned a not-found error in October 2026.
