Season 4, episode 8 of You Gotta Eat Here! (aired 2015-03-20) had host John Catucci eating tacos at El Camino in downtown Ottawa, according to TVmaze's episode summary. The Elgin Street restaurant opened in 2013 and serves tacos filled with pork, beef and ox tongue, according to a Centretown News article dated 2017-04-11 on the Capital Current archive. That article reported that chef Matthew Carmichael owns the restaurant and that a second El Camino would open that June on Clarence Street in the ByWard Market, in the former Stella Osteria space, with a take-out window and dishes beyond tacos. The restaurant's own website, which bills it as Tacos & Raw Bar, lists hours for both the Elgin Street address (380 Elgin) and the Clarence Street address (81A Clarence), links reservations through OpenTable and delivery through Uber Eats, and links a menu file whose name carries the date 2026-08-19 (eatelcamino.com).
