What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

High Point Restaurant was a family-run restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario. Its episode of Restaurant Makeover, a series on Food Network Canada and HGTV Canada, aired on January 23, 2006, as the tenth episode of the second season. Rotten Tomatoes' season listing frames the episode around Tim, who needed to prove he could make the family restaurant a success and make his parents proud. That line is the only description of the episode found; nothing read says what the chef and designer changed in the menu, decor, staffing or name, or how the relaunch went.

The series paired a chef with a designer to rebuild a restaurant on a small budget and a tight schedule, and TVmaze's listing for the show says the owners put up half of the funding, watched the demolition and returned to see the finished room.

Google Places lists a Highpoint Restaurant at 941 Lakeshore Road East in Mississauga's Lakeview area, postcode L5E 1E3, and marked it permanently closed when checked on October 19, 2026. The record's website field pointed to a SkipTheDishes listing page rather than to a site of the restaurant's own. A Royal LePage commercial listing for 941 Lakeshore Road East, undated, offers an established Japanese sushi restaurant for sale at $85,000; it does not mention Highpoint or say which unit is for sale. Wikipedia's list of renovated restaurants marks High Point Restaurant as no longer open and adds no note.

Rotten Tomatoes places the episode between the Aftermath Café episode of January 1, 2006 and the Monkey Bar and Grill episode of January 30, 2006, and names six chefs among the season's hosts, Brad Long, Rene Chauvin, Lynn Crawford, Massimo Capra, Corbin Tomaszeski and David Adjey, without saying which of them or which designer worked on this one. No news report or dated record naming a closure date or a reason was found, so the date and circumstances of the change are not documented in the sources read.
