What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?
TheTVDB's overview of the Season 2 episode that aired 2013-05-03, a viewer-recommended episode, describes La Taqueria in Vancouver as the real deal, serving Mexican street food indoors with 12 different fillings, including braised beef cheeks and pork confit. Daily Hive reported on 2025-11-03 that La Taqueria has operated in Vancouver since 2009 and that its newest venture, the two-storey Pinche Taco Shop at 367 Seymour Street, softly opened that day, run by the same team. Scout Magazine reported on 2025-08-27 that the brand's North Vancouver location at 1305 Welch Street was scheduled to close on August 30, 2025, and that its commissary kitchen had moved into the Comedor by La Taqueria at 2450 Yukon Street. An undated Atmosfy listing shows a La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop at the same Yukon Street address.
Scout Magazine reported on 2017-11-23 that La Taqueria's first shop opened in September 2009 at 322 West Hastings Street. NS News reported in August 2025 that the North Vancouver shop, opened in February 2015, was the brand's third location, and that the West Hastings restaurant closed in mid-May 2025 with its building slated for demolition. The Georgia Straight reported on 2018-09-17 that the Yukon Street shop opened that day, after a Cambie Street shop had closed a few months earlier because of building redevelopment. No source read names the venue shown in the 2013 episode.
