What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

In the 2014-05-16 episode "Lucy's Eastside Diner, Ciao Roma, The Branch," host John Catucci attempted a single-bun burger with four patties, bacon, sausage, chili, onion rings and an egg, according to TVmaze's episode summary. BC Living, in an article dated 2014-08-08, described the diner's challenge at 2708 Main Street as a six-patty burger priced at $30 and free for anyone who finished it in 20 minutes. Daily Hive, on 2026-09-18, traced the East Vancouver diner to The Whip, launched in 2006, with Lucy's following from 2010, and noted its retro style, shakes and sandwiches.

The same article reported that the diner announced on Instagram that it had closed, quoting the line "Today marks the end of an era" and a reference to a new team stepping in, without naming that team or its plans. A second Daily Hive piece, dated 2026-09-19, also listed the diner among recent Vancouver closures.
