TheTVDB's entry describes it as a struggling greasy spoon with a Persian twist. It says Alex Polizzi arrived with a new vision and frank advice to see whether the cafe could become a local favorite, and it hints that the cafe's future was in question.

Manchester's Finest, a local directory whose page carries no date, lists Metro Cafe at 1 Cavendish Terrace, Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, M21 0UA, opposite the tram stop. It describes a classic fry-up cafe serving a halal full English and strong tea, plus a daily-changing menu of Persian home cooking from owners Majid and Zahra, with dishes such as khoresh fesenjan, ghormeh sabzi and mirza ghasemi. The same page says the Hotel Inspector refurbished the cafe and introduced the name The Persian Stop. It gives no date for the makeover, no opening hours and no statement on whether the cafe is trading today under either name.

A Google Maps listing that automatically matched this record, Cafe Metro at 20 High Street, Manchester M4 1QB, is marked permanently closed. That is a separate business in the city centre, not the Chorlton cafe, so the marker is not applied here.

Deliveroo's page for The Persian Stop - Chorlton, which carries a 2026 copyright notice, shows a 4.5 rating from 48 reviews. Thatsup's directory entry for Chorlton Metro Cafe, updated 6 June 2026, still lists the cafe on Wilbraham Road, M21 0UA, open 8:00 to 16:00 Monday to Saturday and 9:00 to 16:00 on Sunday.
