What happened after Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares? 2 episodes

Part 1 — Season 1, Episode 4 Aired

Moore Place was a restaurant and bar in a Georgian mansion on Portsmouth Road in Esher, Surrey, and the fourth episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which Channel 4 aired on 2004-05-18. According to Wikipedia's episode summary, two joint owners with little restaurant experience were running a business with an outdated menu of deep-fried food, indifferent kitchen staff and an exterior painted a claret color that drew local comment.

Ramsay's rescue, as Wikipedia describes it, centered on the kitchen. An experienced sous-chef was hired, Ramsay gave him a burger recipe that became the signature dish, and Ramsay threw the deep-fat fryers into a water hazard on the neighboring golf course. The summary does not record a change of decor or name. The relaunch was a Mother's Day lunch that went well, with the burger on the menu.

The return visit shown in the episode found the building still painted claret, the sous-chef promoted to head chef, the previous head chef gone, and business up. The follow-up episode, "Moore Place Revisited," aired on 2005-07-05; Wikipedia says the building had still not been repainted despite local complaints, though the menu changes were working.

Wikipedia's article on Moore Place, citing Surrey Live in 2015, says the owners sold the business in 2006 and it became another bar and restaurant, called Esteem. Surrey Live reported on 2015-12-21 that the building was later painted aubergine and used as a nightclub, and that it was knocked down in 2009; Wikipedia gives 2010. The same Surrey Live article reported that planning permission for a care home was granted in 2011 and that the care company Anchor opened a 60-bed, Georgian-style home specializing in dementia care on the site. An undated getSurrey report said Moore Place Holdings planned to replace the 18th-century listed building with a 50-bedroom hotel and that Hotel du Vin had declined to operate it.

Part 2 — Season 2, Episode 7 Aired

"Moore Place Revisited," the seventh episode of the second series of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, aired on Channel 4 on 2005-07-05 and returned to the Esher restaurant first shown on 2004-05-18. TheTVDB's listing says Ramsay went back to see whether his fast-track guide to restaurant success had helped the two owners.

According to Wikipedia's article on the series, the building had still not been repainted despite local complaints, but the menu changes were working and business was better. Ramsay suggested aligning the bar menu with the main restaurant's, and he threw another deep-fat fryer into a pond.

The original episode, per the same article, had shown a deep-fried menu, indifferent kitchen staff and a claret-painted exterior, followed by a new sous-chef, a signature burger and a successful Mother's Day lunch. Surrey Live reported on 2015-12-21 that the building was later knocked down in 2009 and replaced by a care home.
