What happened after Bar Rescue?

The Bullpen at Aspen Glen was a Sparks, Nevada bar opened by former MLB pitcher Dan Serafini after he stepped away from a career in professional baseball. On the episode "Take Me Out to the Bar Game" (aired 2015-06-28), the bar was shown with signage host Jon Taffer said was too small to be noticed from the road, a layout he did not favor, and a broken smoke ventilator that left the space heavy with smoke. Taffer said the bar's owner had largely ceded day-to-day control to his staff, and one bartender's presentation did not fit the family-oriented approach the show wanted for the relaunch. As part of the rescue, the team introduced a drinks-production-average system to track bartender pace, and during a stress test one bartender who could not improve her metrics was let go by the owner.

The bar received a full remodel, including new signage and interior design, and was renamed Oak Tavern. Six weeks after the visit, the owners reported sales were up roughly 50 percent under the new format, and the bar kept the Oak Tavern name going forward, along with a follow-up appearance on a Bar Rescue "Back to the Bar" segment describing continued gains.

Reviews and activity for the bar became inconsistent in the years that followed; several Yelp reviewers between 2019 and 2022 described finding the bar closed during posted hours despite signage suggesting it was open. The venue's Facebook page showed no further activity after December 2017. A Yelp listing for the address shows Oak Tavern marked as permanently closed, with the venue's on-file health-inspection activity also having lapsed after 2018. Google Street View imagery from 2022 showed a different business, referred to in a fan tracker as On The Rocks Bar, operating from the same storefront on Vista Boulevard, though that replacement-tenant detail has not been independently confirmed through a named local news source.
