What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
Channel 5's The Hotel Inspector visited Albion House in Ramsgate, Kent, for the episode “Albion House, Ramsgate,” which aired 2015-04-23. Wikipedia's list of episodes describes the assignment as reviving a building that was once a summer retreat for Queen Victoria. The house stands on Ramsgate's East Cliff above the Royal Harbour. Its profile on Great Small Hotels dates the house to 1791, says Princess Victoria recuperated there in 1835, lists a latest refurbishment of December 2014, and describes 14 bedrooms, 12 with direct sea views, plus a restaurant called Townleys serving brunch and dinner.
An undated Country & Town House guide entry describes Albion House as a restored Georgian and Regency building run by Ben and Emma Irvine, with a cocktail bar and the Townleys restaurant, and notes that the hotel was the subject of a Hotel Inspector episode while it was being transformed.
Current listings use two names for the same address. Visit Kent lists “The House at Ramsgate (Albion House)” at Albion Place, CT11 8HQ, under its Kent Accommodation Scheme. LateRooms lists the House at Ramsgate at that address with 14 guest rooms and a 9.2 guest score. A Google Places entry checked on 2026-10-19 shows a business operating at Albion House under the House at Ramsgate name, and the Great Small Hotels page, read the same day, carried a 2003 to 2026 copyright line and current Townleys opening hours. None of these pages names a current owner or says when the second name came into use, so whether ownership changed after the 2015 broadcast was not established.
