What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

Gruman's was one of three stops in the April 11, 2014 episode of You Gotta Eat Here! (Food Network Canada); Rotten Tomatoes' season-three listing names a smoked meat shepherd's pie for the episode. Foursquare's listing for Grumans Catering and Delicatessen, a deli and breakfast spot placed in Victoria Park, Calgary, carries visitor tips dated August 9 and September 3, 2014 that point to the show and recommend the Reuben, the smoked meat shepherd's pie, and the slow-roasted beef brisket. The current website, grumansbritannia.ca, describes a Jewish-inspired deli at 5103 Elbow Dr. SW in Britannia, calls it a new location, and says the Grumans brand was started 12 years before the page was written. In October 2026 that site listed seven-day hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Thanksgiving 2026 menu.

Avenue Calgary's Jewish-style deli guide, published in September 2012, listed Grumans Catering and Delicatessen at 230 11 Avenue SE and said Peter Fraiberg had reopened Grumans that year, after an earlier incarnation in the west end of downtown. Savour Calgary reported on 2020-08-07 that Fraiberg and his sister Gail opened a second Grumans location on Elbow Drive. Daily Hive ran an article titled 'Grumans Catering and Deli to close downtown Calgary location', and its roundup of Calgary restaurant closures, dated 2022-12-27, included Grumans Catering and Deli. Alberta Jewish News reported on 2024-07-24 that Gail Fraiberg's deli is the sole restaurant carrying on the Grumans legacy.
