What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) visited the Madonna Halley Hotel in Edgware, north London, in an episode that aired on 17 October 2011 (series 8, episode 3). According to TheTVDB's episode page, the Florides family, who are Cypriot, ran the hotel, and Mediterranean influences ran through its interior. Guests found the Aegean-style fixtures and decor off-putting; when host Alex Polizzi proposed a major overhaul, the owners were unwilling to give up their signature touches. The show's episode list on Wikipedia says the hotel was losing money quickly and that Polizzi brought in her own design team to refresh it.
The hotel's own website lists 88 Whitchurch Lane, Edgware HA8 6QN. It describes a restaurant serving mainly continental food, a garden with a ceramics workshop, off-street parking, and facilities for weddings, conferences, parties and civil ceremonies; the page shows no year, and its server header gave a last-modified date of 2 October 2025.
A Skyscanner hotel page checked on 2026-10-19 shows guest reviews dated 19 June 2026, 4 July 2026 and 23 July 2026, each describing a stay in June or July 2026, and it lists bookable rooms through several booking sites, with 24-hour reception and a restaurant. A Google Maps record for The Madonna Halley Hotel lists it as operational. The hotel's website and the Skyscanner page do not name its current owners, and no news report or owner statement read covers the years between the broadcast and 2026.
