What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?
TheTVDB's overview of the Season 2 episode that aired 2013-04-26 lists Smitty's Oyster House as the Sunshine Coast seafood stop, though the episode title spells it Oyster Bar. The restaurant's own website places it at 643 School Road in Lower Gibsons, across from Smitty's Marina beside a working wharf on Gibsons Harbour, in a building converted from a marine repair shop, and its menu lists halibut fritters. Vancouver Magazine reported on 2022-01-27 that the Gibsons original was closed for the winter until February 14 and that a Smitty's spin-off on Main Street in Vancouver was about to open.
Western Living reported on 2023-10-23 that the Gibsons restaurant was a local benchmark and recommended its raw oysters, housemade sauces, crab cakes, and chili lime prawns. In October 2026 the restaurant's website listed hours of noon to 8pm Thursday, noon to 9pm Friday and Saturday, and noon to 3:30pm Sunday, with an online ordering widget; the site's footer carries a 2021 date.
