What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Clover, a naturist hotel at 759 Chester Road in Birmingham, was the opening episode of series 9 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), first aired on 2012-07-05. Wikipedia's episode list, read on 2026-10-19, titles it "The Clover Hotel + B&B" and says owner Tim Higgs insisted that Alex Polizzi undress before starting work. Breaking Travel News reported on 2011-05-18 that the Clover Spa Hotel had opened in Birmingham for naturists; it described seven bedrooms, beauty and wellness treatments including naturist massage, a garden hot tub, and Higgs as owner. Neither source describes the business advice given in the episode or the changes made afterwards.
The business now trades online as Clover Spa and Hotel. Its website, read on 2026-10-19, gives the address as 759 Chester Road, Birmingham, B24 0BY, about 500 meters from Chester Road train station, and carries page metadata with a last-modified date of 2026-08-11 and a 2025 copyright notice. The site lists spa days with a 60-minute massage from 99 pounds per person, all-day spa use from 35 pounds per person, a couples spa day at 180 pounds, and a Monday-night sauna club from 6 pm to 10 pm at 15 pounds on the door.
It announces a Halloween party on Saturday 31 October, with a comedy night and spa evening the previous Friday, though the page gives no year. Booking links on the page lead to Fresha for spa days and to eviivo for stays. The site does not name an owner and does not mention Channel 5 or the television series.
Google Places lists the business as operational at the same address on 2026-10-19.

Synopsis (tvmaze.com) : Alex Polizzi comes to the rescue of more struggling hotels, beginning with Birmingham naturist retreat the Clover, whose owner Tim Higgs insists Alex has to strip off before she can start work. She soon discovers this strict no-clothes rule, while not surprising for a naturist hotel, applies at all times throughout the entire establishment - even in the lounge and restaurant – a policy she believes will put off more customers than it attracts. But despite rising debts, Tim refuses to budge on his naturist principles.
