What happened after Ramsay's Best Restaurant?

The Milestone, a Sheffield gastropub near Kelham Island, was presented in the fourth episode of Ramsay's Best Restaurant (Channel 4, 'British Restaurants', aired 2010-10-05) as one of Gordon Ramsay's two finest local British restaurants, according to TVmaze's episode synopsis. The Morning Advertiser reported on 2010-11-03 that the pub, owned by Marc Sheldon and Matt Bigland, won the Best British Restaurant heat in October 2010 and was due to meet a Bradford-based Indian restaurant in the semi-final on 9 November; it was known for its own herd of pigs and a cookbook due that month. Yorkshire Food Guide reported on 2020-01-13 that the pub relaunched at 84 Green Lane with a new head chef.

The Star reported on 2021-11-11 that it had not reopened after coronavirus restrictions lifted and that its owner was in talks over a sale. In a Star article dated 2026-06-12, Matt Bigland said Ramsay "battered us on camera" but was helpful off camera.
