What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

The 2013-02-22 episode of You Gotta Eat Here! (season 2, episode 4) included fresh seafood at Wildside Grill in Tofino, British Columbia, according to the TVmaze episode listing. Wildside Grill is a small seafood and burger restaurant in the Live to Surf plaza at 1180 Pacific Rim Highway, according to the restaurant's website and to Tourism Tofino's business directory. The directory credits a commercial fisherman and a chef as its owners and describes fish and chips with an upscale twist made from local ingredients. Wanderlog describes it as an outdoor-only shack serving breakfast tacos, oysters and chicken burgers.

The restaurant's website, read in October 2026, listed daily hours of 11am to 8pm and a call-ahead phone line, but it carried no date and no ordering link. Tourism Tofino's listing page showed a 2026 site copyright and no hours, and Wanderlog listed hours of 11am to 9pm with a 2025 copyright. None of these pages carried a dated 2026 post, menu or customer review.

An Adventurous World's Tofino eating guide, first published 2016-07-29 and shown as last updated 2026-09-17, calls Wildside Grill 'another staple just outside of downtown' and embeds an Instagram post dated 2019-01-21. Tourism Tofino's business directory lists the restaurant on a site carrying a 2026 copyright, and a Restaurantji listing checked 2026-10-19 gives daily hours of 11am to 8pm without dating any reviews. Daily Hive reported on 2017-12-19 that co-owner Jeff Mikus is a local fisherman and that the restaurant follows a boat-to-plate approach.
