What happened after Project Bakeover?

The Lighthouse Bakery, a neighbourhood bake shop in the Victoria, British Columbia, area, was the eighth bakery on Project Bakeover (Food Network Canada). The episode, "A Light in the Dark," aired 2021-06-10. A Fubo program listing describes the owner, Vikki, as an ambitious millennial who had taken over the bakery, was having trouble making ends meet and needed help from Steve Hodge, the series' pastry chef and chocolatier, to develop her creativity. Wikipedia's episode table credits Hodge's items for the episode as whoopie pies, Lighthouse bread knots and a raspberry dream cake, and it describes the series as one in which Hodge and designer Tiffany Pratt help struggling bakeries remake their menus and decor. No source read for this entry described the decor changes or the relaunch in detail.

The most visible change since the episode is the name. The Explore Langford business directory, in a listing last modified 2025-08-06, lists Lighthouse Cake Company, formerly Lighthouse Bakery, at 742 Goldstream Avenue in Langford. It says Vikki Smith, a Red Seal certified baker, took over the business in 2018 from the previous owners, who had run it since 1998. The bakery's own website, lighthousecakecompany.ca, last modified 2025-10-15 and showing a 2026 footer, calls the business Lighthouse Cake Co., a family-owned bakery specializing in cakes and assorted pastries, and says Smith runs it with her husband Richard and a team of Red Seal certified bakers.

Its pages cover a menu, weddings and custom cakes, and the home page carries a heading inviting visitors to watch the bakery's Project Bakeover episode, which the site numbers as episode 5 where Wikipedia lists it eighth. The site lists hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday, and says it is closed Sunday and Monday. None of the sources read gives the date of the name change.

A Google Places record retrieved 2026-10-19 lists Lighthouse Cake Co at 742 Goldstream Ave, with a Victoria mailing address, as operational.
