Battista's Calzone Co. in Edmonton, Alberta, was the second stop in the Season 5 episode of You Gotta Eat Here! titled "Prohibition Montreal, Battista's Calzone Co., Burgers N' Fries Forever," which aired 2016-03-18. According to TVmaze's episode listing, host John Catucci tried the shop's specialty, and the show's notes list calzone as the featured food. Global News reported on 2022-04-27 that the calzone shop shared a building at 118 Avenue and 83 Street in the Alberta Avenue district with Flava Café, owned by Battista Vecchio.

Global News reported a fire on 2022-04-15 that began in a shed behind the restaurants and spread to the building, that both restaurants closed for repairs and cleanup, and that Vecchio hoped to reopen the following week. A GoFundMe for the two restaurants had raised more than $9,000, Global News reported. A Google Maps listing for Battista's Calzone at 11745 84 Street NW, checked 2026-10-19, carries a permanently closed marker, and the shop's website did not respond in October 2026.
