What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?
TheTVDB's episode guide lists the Black Forest Inn segment of the 2013-02-15 episode as Bavarian schnitzels, including the Jager Schnitzel served with mushroom gravy. The restaurant sat on King Street East in Hamilton's International Village. CHCH reported on 2024-10-09 that it had operated for 55 years, that an investment management group bought it in December 2016 and renovated it several times, and that it had been closed temporarily since July. In that report the restaurant announced on social media that it was closing permanently, citing "unforeseen financial challenges".
On 2024-11-27 CHCH reported that the former Black Forest Inn would reopen on December 4 under new ownership as Das Schnitzelhaus, with the same menu and atmosphere. A public Google Maps listing for Black Forest Inn at 255 King Street East, checked 2026-10-19, marks that business as permanently closed.
