Gordon Ramsay presented Casamia as an innovative restaurant in Bristol, paired with London's Mennula, in the first episode of Ramsay's Best Restaurant (Channel 4, 'Italian Restaurants', aired 2010-09-14), according to TVmaze's episode synopsis. Secret Bristol reported on 2024-01-09 that the Sanchez-Iglesias family's restaurant began in Westbury-on-Trym, won a Michelin star in 2009 and moved to The General on Lower Guinea Street in Redcliffe in 2016; the outlet dated its closure to August 2022. Restaurant Online reported on 2024-10-25 that Casamia closed in 2022, citing rapidly rising costs, and that chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias then opened Casa, a more casual Italian restaurant, on the same site.
