What happened after Restaurant Makeover?

Lakes Bar and Grill is the name used for the episode (S1E10, aired 2005-06-07), and our match for it is Lakes Restaurant and Wine Bar at 1112 Yonge Street in Rosedale, Toronto. Google Play's description says a once-top restaurant had grown complacent and received a risky overhaul with no guarantee of success. Rotten Tomatoes says the local bar and grill aimed to regain its status as one of the city's top restaurants. RealityTVWorld's show page credits chef Lynn Crawford and designer Cherie Stinson. Under the show's format, per RealityTVWorld and Wikipedia's article on the series, the owner's funds were matched up to $20,000 (later $15,000).

A Globe and Mail restaurant review of Lakes at 1112 Yonge Street describes a new chef, a bistro-style menu, lower prices and a renovation, but the copy we read carries no date, so we cannot say whether it describes the show's changes. We found no other account of the menu, decor or staffing changes the episode made, and none of the relaunch. We also found no source naming the restaurant's owner in 2005.

An UrbanToronto forum post dated 2009-10-05, in a thread about Restaurant Makeover restaurants that had closed, said that Lakes on Yonge, north of Roxborough, had also closed. BlogTO's Top 10 Deadpool of 2009, a year-end list posted in December 2009 according to its web address, ranked the closing of Lakes in Rosedale fifth. BlogTO tied the closing to changes along the stretch between Crescent Road and Roxborough, reported that Lakes had gone through a renovation and a change of chef, and said regulars had already moved to Le Petit Castor. Neither source gives an exact closing date.

A map search for the name returned Lakes Bar and Lounge at a resort hotel in the Muskoka region, which is a separate business and not connected to the Yonge Street restaurant.
