Tara Inn, an Irish-style pub and restaurant, is described in the episode listings as a long-running family business. The episode, S1E9, aired 2005-05-31. Google Play's description says the family pub was facing its first staff walkout after its chef left. Rotten Tomatoes' listing, which spells the name 'Tarra Inn,' says the inn needed to replace its kitchen. RealityTVWorld's show page credits chef David Adjey and designer Glen Peloso. Under the show's format, according to RealityTVWorld and Wikipedia's article on the series, the owners' funds were matched up to $20,000 (later $15,000).

We found no description of what the team changed in the menu, the room or the staffing, and no coverage of the relaunch. The street address is a match we made, not one that any episode source gives. The website tarainn.ca, for Tara Inn at 2365 Kingston Road in Scarborough, carries a 'Since 1988' badge and describes a family pub, which fits Google Play's description of a long-established family pub, but no source we read names both the show and this address.

On 2026-10-19 the pub's website listed hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. under 'Open today,' showed a 2026 copyright line, listed a menu of small plates, burgers, wings, pub pies and mains, and advertised live bands on Friday and Saturday dates in late September and early October (the page did not print a year for those dates). A Google Places listing for Tara Inn at the same address, checked the same day, is marked operational. A Streets of Toronto listing, labeled current through 2024, describes award-winning chicken wings, homemade pub pies, fish and chips, and a traditional Irish breakfast on weekends, and says the pub has been a Scarborough establishment for over three decades.
