What happened after Restaurant Impossible: Last Call (Food Network)?

Pitcher's Sports Bar & Grill is a neighborhood sports bar at 448 Welland Avenue in St. Catharines, Ontario. Its episode of Restaurant Impossible: Last Call (Food Network), the spin-off of Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network) hosted by chef Aarón Sánchez and Toronto restaurateur Jen Agg, was titled “Raising the Bar” and aired 2026-08-13. TVmaze's episode guide described a father who put his retirement savings into a neighborhood bar whose longtime customers were dwindling, and a daughter who is given a bigger role. Food Network's episode gallery identified the owner as Jae and his daughter Jenna as the bar manager.

The problems shown: According to Food Network, the decor was dark and dated and the space was not drawing younger customers despite a nearby college. The owner had bought the bar largely for sentimental reasons, had no prior restaurant or bar experience, and said he had gone two years without a paycheck. Staff described confusing or absent management and weak communication, and Jenna held the manager title with little real authority. The food was underwhelming, with a bottled wing sauce and plain presentation.

What the rescue changed: Food Network reported a redesign with new lighting, a salvaged sign painted white, vintage-style pennants, extra seating, a cabinet of games and a framed family photo near the bar. The menu was refreshed with hot honey wings and a higher-priced fried fish sandwich. Jenna took on a larger leadership role, staff began holding regular meetings, and the kitchen focused on inventory and consistency. The bar kept its name.

The relaunch: Food Network reported that Jenna promoted the reopening by handing out flyers at the university, and that the bar added a cornhole league alongside its karaoke and live music nights.

Since the episode: On 2026-10-19 the bar's own website, which carried a 2026 copyright notice, gave the Welland Avenue address and a phone number and greeted visitors as a newly renovated venue. It listed hours of 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, daily specials including wing Tuesday and fish and chips Friday, live music on Fridays, karaoke on four nights a week, and band performances dated 2026-10-16 and 2026-10-17. The site describes a neighborhood restaurant, bar and grill serving home-cooked food for over 20 years. A Google Maps listing for the address showed it as operational the same day.
