What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
Part 1 — Season 15, Episode 1 Aired
Rosehill House Hotel is a Grade II-listed hotel on Rosehill Avenue in Burnley, Lancashire. It featured in the first episode of Series 15 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired on 2019-06-06. According to TheTVDB's episode page, the 31-room hotel had been owned for 25 years by John and was run by his daughter Emma. The page says the place was cluttered, that the owners had lost sight of their customers, and that bookings had fallen sharply. A family member who had been central to the hotel had retired because of illness, which left Emma running it largely alone.
What has happened since: The Lancashire Evening Post reported on 2023-12-13 that the owners announced on Facebook the previous evening that the hotel was ending operations with immediate effect. The article quoted the owners as saying they were "no longer able to continue operating" and reported that guests with reservations would receive deposit refunds over the following weeks. The same article noted that Alex Polizzi had praised the hotel on the show. The Burnley Express reported on 2024-01-15 that the 30-bedroom building, which dates from 1856 and became a hotel in 1963, was on the market through Savills with a guide price of £1,250,000 and that the family had decided to sell.
On 2024-11-21 the Lancashire Evening Post and the trade site Hotel Owner each reported that a private buyer, who was not named, had acquired the property through an auction contract for an undisclosed sum. The Lancashire Evening Post added that future plans for the venue had not been made public. None of the sources read reports a reopening.
Part 2 — Season 17, Episode 8 Aired
The series 17 finale (Channel 5, aired 2022-08-11) was a revisit to Rosehill House Hotel in Burnley, which the Wikipedia list of Hotel Inspector episodes describes as a 30-bedroom hotel. TVmaze's listing says Alex Polizzi returned to see whether the owners had kept the hotel running through Covid-19 or revived their earlier plan to convert it into flats.

Owned for the past 25 years by John and run by his daughter Emma, they have cluttered the 31-room establishment with tat and lost sight of who their customers are. Recently, bookings have taken a sharp decline and to make matters worse John's wife Jacquie - once the life and soul of the hotel - has been forced to retire due to illness, leaving Emma to run the place alone.

When Alex first arrived two and a half years ago, she met a dad with a deadline and a daughter in despair. With the hotel badly underperforming, John was threatening to sell it and turn it into flats, but daughter Emma was unable to let it go. By the time Alex arrived, it was in the last chance saloon. Despite perfectly pleasant rooms, the hotel lacked identity and focus. With the building brimming with heritage, Alex helped the hoteliers see the potential of Rosehill House as a wedding venue — a change they enthusiastically embraced. The Hotel Inspector left heartened by John and Emma's drive. But the arrival of Covid-19 hit the wedding industry hard. Alex wants to find out if Emma and John have kept things afloat or whether the very tough climate has meant the flats project has resurfaced. And, of course, Alex wouldn't be the Hotel Inspector if she didn't have another surprise up her sleeve that could help to keep their business on the right track.
