Is Rutland Arms Hotel Still Open? The Hotel Inspector Update

The Rutland Arms Hotel in The Square, Bakewell, Derbyshire, was the third episode of series 6 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired on 2010-08-05. Wikipedia's episode list attributes its difficulties to poor organisation, bad reviews and a lack of winter visitors, and records no outcome.

The hotel's website, read on 2026-10-19, is headed The Rutland Arms Hotel, Eatery and Coffee House, and its page metadata shows a last-modified date of 2026-10-06. It gives The Square, Bakewell DE45 1BT as the address, lists venue hours of 7:30am to 11pm daily and food service of 7am to 9pm on weekdays, 7:30am to 9pm on Saturdays and 7:30am to 8:30pm on Sundays, and gives room check-in from 3pm with check-out at 11am. It promotes Christmas 2026 dining throughout December and lists a New Year's Eve event starting at 6pm on 2026-12-31.

The footer carries a 2026 copyright for the Coaching Inn Group, which the site presents as a family-run group founded in 1996 and now operating 43 properties. The site says the inn was built in 1804 for a Duke of Rutland and calls it the birthplace of the Bakewell pudding. It does not mention the television programme, and the sources read do not say when the hotel joined the group.

A Google Maps listing checked on 2026-10-19 marks the hotel operational.
