What happened after Restaurant Makeover?
Six Steps is the name Wikipedia's list of renovated restaurants gives for a Toronto restaurant that was called Spinello when its episode aired. The episode, titled "Spinello", aired on 2007-04-02 as the twenty-third episode of the third season of Restaurant Makeover, the HGTV Canada series in which a chef and a designer rework one restaurant on a limited budget and a short schedule, with the owners adding matching money. Rotten Tomatoes' season listing sets up the episode this way: two partners, Patrick and George, buy the vacant Spinello restaurant.
Wikipedia's list names chef Massimo Capra and designer Meredith Heron and gives Spinello as the original name and Six Steps as the name after the makeover. No source read describes the menu, decor, staff or concept changes, the relaunch, or when the name Six Steps began or ended.
BlogTO's page on The Bowery described that restaurant as occupying the old Six Steps space on Colborne Lane, and its header marks The Bowery as now closed; the page shows no date. Toronto Life reported on 2012-05-14 that Osteria 55, at 55 Colborne Street, had been quietly transformed from The Bowery a couple of weeks earlier, and that The Bowery had opened the year before. Toronto Life's article does not mention Six Steps. This entry therefore takes 55 Colborne Street as the Six Steps address by joining the two accounts, and that link rests on BlogTO's description alone; BlogTO says Colborne Lane where Toronto Life says Colborne Street.
Wikipedia's list notes that this space is now The Bowery and cites a blog post titled "The Bowery Launches on Colborne Street in Toronto", whose web address is dated June 2011; the post's text could not be read for this entry. Taken together, the reports show a different restaurant, The Bowery, in the former Six Steps space in 2011 and Osteria 55 in the same space by May 2012. None of them says when Six Steps itself stopped operating, and no information about the address from 2025 or 2026 was found.
