What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

The 2013-03-01 episode of You Gotta Eat Here! (season 2, episode 6) showed John Catucci learning a croque-madame recipe at Tess in Halifax, according to the TVmaze episode listing. Tess was a North End restaurant at 5687 Charles Street that began as a crêperie. The Coast reported on 2009-09-22 that Chez Tess had opened there under owner Liz Cunningham, serving sweet and savoury crêpes, and by 2012 the name had been shortened to Tess. The Coast reported on 2012-08-10 that the restaurant would appear on the second season of You Gotta Eat Here!

The Coast reported on 2015-10-21 that Tess would serve its final meal on October 26 and that the space was changing hands to reopen as Chi Bistro, a Chinese fusion restaurant. A public Google Maps listing for Tess at the Charles Street address was marked permanently closed when checked on 2026-10-19.
