What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Royal George is a pub at 17 Bedwin Street, Salisbury, featured in series 19, episode 4 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), aired 2024-04-25. According to TheTVDB's episode overview, Reece, an enthusiastic landlord who also works as a performer, asked Alex Polizzi to help bring more customers into the pub during a worsening period for the hospitality trade. Hello Rayo reported on 2024-04-25 that Reece Brown owns both the Royal George and the Anchor & Hope in Salisbury, and that both pubs appeared in that evening's episode.
According to Hello Rayo, the show's team helped with the pub's buffets and a tier list, and worked with Brown to decorate the function room. The article reported Brown's view that both pubs look far better now and have continued to grow since filming.
The pub's own website, viewed on 2026-10-19, lists opening hours of noon to 11pm Monday to Thursday, noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8pm on Sunday, with pages for events and room hire and a footer reading copyright 2020 to 2026. It describes a quirky country pub in the city center that has operated since 2020, and mentions pub quizzes, bands and celebrations. The website does not mention the television appearance. The Campaign for Real Ale's WhatPub entry lists a 15th-century inn that is a Grade II listed building, with the freehold held by Stonegate and the lease held by an individual, and shows a last-updated date of 08/08/2025.
Wikipedia's list of The Hotel Inspector episodes records the episode as The Royal George, aired 25 April 2024.
