What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Platform Tavern, a pub on Town Quay in Southampton, Hampshire, featured in the Hotel Inspector episode first shown on 2026-04-30 (series 21, episode 7). TheTVDB's entry says Alex Polizzi visited a pub at risk of closing permanently and tried to revive it by highlighting its history and its connection to the Titanic.

The Campaign for Real Ale's pub listing says the name recalls a Napoleonic-era gun platform and that a plaque outside commemorates James McGrady, a Titanic steward whose body was the last one recovered. It also notes a section of the old city walls visible behind glass in the bar, African art and a fabric "tented" ceiling. The listing, last surveyed on 2026-02-17 and marked as showing summer 2026 hours, mentions freshly prepared food including stone-baked pizzas and Sunday roasts, live music on Thursday and Friday evenings and weekend lunchtimes, a Wednesday quiz night, and a dog-friendly policy.

The pub's own website, titled "The Platform Tavern: Live Music, Craft Brews, & Delicious Dining in Southampton", describes free live music most nights, craft beer and homemade food, with music styles from blues and rock to country and jazz. It lists pub hours of noon to 11pm Monday to Wednesday, noon to midnight Thursday to Saturday and noon to 10pm on Sunday, plus separate kitchen times. It also offers online table booking, private event hire and a way for musicians to apply for gigs. The page carries no dated news and does not mention the television episode.
