Is Gatwick Turret Still Open? The Hotel Inspector Update (Horley, UK)

Gatwick Turret, a family-run bed and breakfast at 48 Massetts Road in Horley, Surrey, about a mile from Gatwick Airport, featured in the Hotel Inspector episode first shown on 2026-03-19 (series 21, episode 4). TheTVDB's entry describes a budget B&B struggling to compete with more than 100 hotels in the Gatwick area and follows Alex Polizzi's attempt to restore its profitability.

SussexWorld, in an article by Mark Dunford published on 2026-03-20, reported that Rai Bhanot now runs the guest house, having taken over from his parents, Ram and Anj, who ran it for 25 years. It said filming took about two weeks in summer 2025. Bhanot said that before the programme the family felt they were working hard without enough return.

SussexWorld listed these changes: car parking was priced differently, with guests emailed in advance; a ground-floor family room was fully refurbished as a premium room; and staff were advised to talk more with guests and offer extras such as breakfast and coffee. Bhanot told the paper the programme had been "a massive boost", and said the family received many emails and Instagram messages during the broadcast. He also said bookings remained difficult, partly because the situation in the Middle East had reduced guests travelling to Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Further work was planned, including moving reception into the foyer and creating a living space for himself and his wife.

The guest house's own website, titled "Gatwick Turret Bed & Breakfast", describes airport transfers, parking and a nearby 24-hour bus stop, and gives phone and WhatsApp contact details. It carries no dated news and does not mention the show. A Google Maps listing for Gatwick Turret Guest House, 48 Massetts Road, Horley RH6 7DS, is marked operational.
