Its owner, Jon, had inherited it from his late mother, and a young couple lived on site and managed it. Expedia lists the Westward Ho Hotel at the same address with a rating of 8.0 from 448 reviews, the most recent dated September 9, 2026, and describes a family-run, Victorian-style building near Leas Cliff Hall and the beach. Guests quoted by Expedia's page praise the staff, location and value, while some note that the building is dated, has no lift and offers limited parking. Pets are allowed for a 10 pound fee.

A University Rooms listing for Westward Ho! Hotel, Folkestone, describes a bed and breakfast with en-suite rooms, sea views and a continental breakfast buffet from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., though it shows no dates or availability. The hotel's own website, westwardhohotel.co.uk, returned an access error when checked on October 19, 2026, so it could not be read. A Google Maps listing checked the same day was marked operational.

Westward Ho! Revisit, series 19, episode 9 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), aired 2024-05-30 and returned to the Westward Ho! Hotel in Folkestone, Kent, which had first appeared in an earlier series. Wikipedia's list of the show's episodes records it as overall episode 164 and the first of four revisit episodes that closed series 19, followed by Hotel Celebrity Revisit on 2024-06-06, Loughborough Grange Revisit on 2024-06-13 and The Dukes Revisit on 2024-06-27.
