What Happened to Welcome Traveller Inn After The Hotel Inspector?
The Hotel Inspector, Season 7 Tiers Cross, Wales
Current status
As of October 2026, Welcome Traveller Inn has closed per the business's own notice (November 22, 2021), reviewed by our team on October 19, 2026 and cross-checked against Wikipedia; not yet independently confirmed through direct contact with the business.
What the source shows: CAMRA's entry (updated 2021-11-22) records the Tiers Cross pub as closed from 2021-11-01 and Wikipedia's Tiers Cross article says it closed in 2021 and was later converted to a private residence, which outweighs the undated Google and Kayak listings. How we decide a status →

What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5) visited the Welcome Traveller Inn in Pembrokeshire, west Wales, in an episode that aired on 2 May 2011 (series 7, episode 3). TheTVDB's episode page describes a family-run inn with eight bedrooms, a dining area, a bar and a conference room. Geoff, Babs, Sarah and Kirsty had run it for seven years. Occupancy was low, online reviews were poor, money was tight, and the family disagreed about how to move the business forward. The show's episode list on Wikipedia describes it as an inn with B&B rooms in west Wales.
The episode sources do not name the village. A pub of the same name stands at Redberth View, Tiers Cross, near Haverfordwest (SA62 3DD), and that is the location used for this entry; it rests on the name and county match only. CAMRA's pub database lists the Welcome Traveller Inn at that address as closed long term, with a closure date of 1 November 2021, a record update dated 22 November 2021 and a last survey in June 2018. The entry adds an unconfirmed note that the building was apparently being converted into a home.
A Google Maps record for a Welcome Traveller Inn at Tiers Cross, Haverfordwest SA62 3DD, showed an operational status when checked on 2026-10-19, and Kayak lists a hotel of that name in Haverfordwest. The Google Maps and Kayak listings carry no dates for their data, so they do not settle the conflict with CAMRA's 2021 entry.
According to Wikipedia's article on Tiers Cross, read on 2026-10-19, the Welcome Traveller Inn was a pub dating to the 1600s that closed in 2021 and was later converted to a private residence. That account agrees with CAMRA's entry, which was updated on 22 November 2021 and lists a closure date of 1 November 2021. CAMRA also marks the building as an Asset of Community Value and lists a carvery, breakfast and sports television among the pub's facilities before it closed. Neither source mentions The Hotel Inspector, so the link between this pub and the 2011 episode rests on the exact name and the Pembrokeshire location.
