What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The White Horse in Risby, a village just west of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, was the subject of 'The White Horse, Suffolk', the final episode of The Hotel Inspector's seventh series, which aired on Channel 5 on 2011-06-06. The programme's own YouTube description says Alex Polizzi was called to the eight-bedroomed White Horse by its owners, Ann and Paul Wrigley, and TView's episode listing describes a picturesque inn into which the couple had sunk their life savings. A Pubs Galore guest review from April 2011 praised the inn's Sunday carvery, its beer garden, its summer beer festivals and its live music.

CAMRA's pub guide lists the White Horse on Newmarket Road, beside the old A45 slip road, at postcode IP28 6RD, and marks it permanently closed from 2015, with the building given over to other uses. The same entry says the property was offered at auction by Lambert Smith Hampton on 2017-07-17, marketed with vacant possession and development potential. Pubs Galore's page for the inn records a request to list it as closed while it was for sale at £535,000.

When checked on 2026-10-20, a Google Maps search for the White Horse in Risby returned no listing for the inn, only other pubs of the same name elsewhere in the area. None of the sources read says what the building has been used for since the auction.
