What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

The Rose and Crown Hotel in Market Place, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was the fourth episode of series 5 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired on 2009-07-27. Wikipedia's episode list describes a 300-year-old inn in difficulty and weighed down by paperwork. It records no outcome.

The Wisbech Standard reported that the hotel appeared on the programme in July 2009, when Jonathan Davies was the owner, and that the 28-room hotel had since been sold to Rajesh Sadana, who was to take over on September 24. The paper said the previous owners, Jim and Rosemary Farrelly, had put the hotel on the market for £900,000 in January 2013. It said the hotel would continue as a hotel, that accountant John Howell would help manage it and that a launch party was planned for October 1, with the new owners aiming to keep the hotel's standards and family atmosphere. The page carries no visible date; because it refers to the January 2013 listing, the sale appears to date from 2013 or later.

A hotels.com listing for The Rose and Crown Hotel, 23-24 Market Place, Wisbech PE13 1DG, read on 2026-10-19, shows bookable rooms, a 28-room hotel size and guest reviews dated through 2026, the newest on 2026-10-09, with an overall score of 6.8 from 304 reviews. A Google Maps listing for the hotel is marked operational. The hotel's own booking page returned an access error when checked, so no first-party content was read. The sources read do not say whether Mr Sadana still owns the hotel.
