What happened after The Hotel Inspector?

Butley Priory in Suffolk was featured in the fourth episode of series 3 of The Hotel Inspector, which TVDB and ShowsPlus list as airing on Channel 5 on 2007-10-11. TVDB's description called the property a bed and breakfast in a beautiful medieval priory, and said its owner was reluctant to take in guests and might have to sell because the rooms were often empty. ShowsPlus described it as a six-bedroom B&B in a converted 14th-century priory, and said host Ruth Watson set out to persuade the owner to concentrate on weddings and fashion shoots.

Wikipedia's list of The Hotel Inspector episodes gives the location only as Suffolk. The village comes from the venue's own website, which gives the address as The Clumps, Woodbridge, IP12 3NR, and from a Google Places record that places it at The Clumps in Butley. On 2026-10-19 the priory's website described the building as a wedding venue offering exclusive two-night stays with guest accommodation on site, and said the building is more than 700 years old and was once the gatehouse of an Augustinian monastery.

The site told couples to book 12 to 18 months ahead, listed a Lunch & Supper Club for 21 and 22 November 2026, and said a 150-acre nature reserve called Butley Abbey Wilds was created around the Priory Gatehouse in 2025, with holiday stays promoted through a separate Butley Abbey Wilds website. The website does not mention the television programme or name the current owners, and no news report about the priory since the broadcast was read.
