What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Weyanoke in Eastbourne appeared in the fifth episode of series 3 of The Hotel Inspector, which TVDB lists as airing on Channel 5 on 2007-10-18. Wikipedia's list of The Hotel Inspector episodes gives the entry as "Weyanoke / East Beach Hotel", two names for the one episode. TVDB described the property as a large hotel on the Eastbourne coast with an identity crisis, and ShowsPlus described it as a 33-bedroom Victorian seafront hotel whose owners had spent more than £1 million on refurbishment and were short of money.
Host Ruth Watson was brought in to help. Since the broadcast, a hotel called the East Beach Hotel has been listed at 23-25 Royal Parade, Eastbourne BN22 7AN. On the Visit Eastbourne site, which carries an Eastbourne Borough Council 2026 copyright and a season listing for 1 January to 31 December 2026, the East Beach Hotel appears with room rates and a booking button. The hotel's own website listed a Christmas 2026 menu item and booking links on 2026-10-19. The travel listing site dnata Travel, with a 2026 footer, describes the hotel as directly opposite the beach and says it was seen on The Hotel Inspector, which is how the East Beach name is tied to this episode.
Hotel Owner reported on 2021-01-05 that the East Beach Hotel on Royal Parade had been brought to market at an asking price of £2.19m; the rest of that article was behind a subscription wall. None of the sources read gives the current owners or says when the Weyanoke name was dropped.
