What happened after The Hotel Inspector?
The Alexandra Hotel in Llandudno, North Wales, was featured in series 10, episode 4 of The Hotel Inspector (Channel 5), which aired 2014-02-27. According to Wikipedia's episode list, a church minister had been running the Grade II-listed hotel for a couple of years while the business was in serious difficulty. TheTVDB's episode page names the minister as John Humberstone and says presenter Alex Polizzi helped him try to turn around the hotel's fortunes.
The hotel appeared on television again that year. TheTVDB lists it as the final B&B in a Four in a Bed episode that aired on Channel 4 on 2014-07-18, describing it there as a work in progress whose rooms left the guests wanting more.
British Listed Buildings lists the building as Grade II, on the corner of Clonmel Street and Mostyn Street, with a hotel on the upper floors and shops, a bar and reception at ground level, a cast-iron veranda along the street frontages and a semi-octagonal corner tower. The listing page is undated and gives no street number.
The hotel's own website, thealexllandudno.com, loaded on 2026-10-19 with a last-modified date of 2026-03-16. Its text gives the address as 11 Clonmel Street, Llandudno LL30 2LE, carries a Book Now link, says breakfast is served daily from 9:00 am and describes direct and Booking.com reservations as room-only. It also lists dogs as welcome for £12 a night and notes that the hotel has no elevator and no on-site parking. The page title calls the business The New Alexandra Hotel while its body text says The Alexandra Hotel, and the site does not name the owners, so the current operator has not been compared with the one seen in the episode.
