What happened after You Gotta Eat Here!?

The Hogtown Cure was the first of three restaurants in the You Gotta Eat Here! episode "The Hogtown Cure, Son of a Peach, Belle Isle Seafood" (season 5, episode 6), which first aired on 2016-04-01 on Food Network Canada with host John Catucci. The Toronto location comes from the episode title and from TVmaze's episode summary, which refers to the city's Hogtown nickname; TVmaze's listing does not record a featured dish. A web search run on 2026-10-19 returned a Toronto Life item announcing The Hogtown Cure as a new sandwich shop and deli on Dundas West, and a Streets of Toronto restaurant recap that names it. A second Toronto Life item turned up whose web address mentions The Cure, Hogtown and Little Portugal. None of these carried a date in the search results.

Toronto Life reported on February 2, 2016 that The Hogtown Cure, at 1484 Dundas Street West, had been renovated and refocused as a restaurant called The Cure by owners Steve Ireson and Chris Schroer; the magazine said the venue had previously been a deli, cafe and retail shop in one. The thecure.to website, which carries a 2016-2017 copyright notice, describes the restaurant as established in 2012 as The Hogtown Cure. A Streets of Toronto listing for The Cure at 1484 Dundas Street West, checked on 2026-10-19 with a 2025 copyright notice, carries a permanently closed label.
